Student VisasThe student visa allows a person who is not an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to study in Australia. The common student visas are the: non-award sector (subclass 569), ELICOS (subclass 570), school sector (subclass 571), vocational education and training sector (subclass 572) and higher education sector (subclass 573) visas. The basic requirement of the student visa is that the visa applicant must undertake a course registered with Commonwealth Register of Institute and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) on a full-time basis. In addition, the visa applicant must also meet the financial, health, character and English requirements.
If the student visa is granted, there will be
ongoing obligations imposed on the student such as course progress and
course attendance which if not satisfied will result in the visa being
cancelled. IMPORTANT - Due to recent changes to the Australian Immigration laws and government policies with regard to the General Skilled Migration (GSM) program, To Legal has decided not to accept any matters relating to Student Visas and/or General Skilled Migration (GSM). If you need immigration assistance in these areas, please contact the Office of the Migration Agents Regulation Authority (Office of the MARA). | ||
